What
is an intervention?
An intervention is an activity or
treatment that we know can be helpful in fighting the symptoms of stress,
anxiety and depression. When talking about stress, anxiety and depression we use
the term ’Common Mental Health problems’
Level 1 Guidance
These activities and sources of
information are known to help people understand their illness and make them less
threatening and disabling. For all common mental health problems we know
that there is evidence that making some changes in a person’s lifestyle can
help. Exercise either walking or sport or attendance at a gym can have
beneficial effects on people’s mood and symptoms. Likewise we also know that
being involved in activities such as gardening, arts groups, support groups can
beneficial. That is the reason for including some of these activities in the
list.
The Links to the details of
Intervention providers in this Level are too numerous to list on one page, so to
make it easier for all they have been broken down into Alphabetical groups.
