As a young person you have a great deal to cope
with just to get through each day.
People telling you what you should do or how you should feel, and
that’s just the ones that say they are thinking about what is best
for you because they care, or your own peer group that think that
because they think or feel in a particular way that you and all the
rest of their mates should think and feel the same way.
But you and I know that they don’t really know you at all, and any
way where do they get off telling you what’s best for you. It would
be nice if just for a change someone would ask for your opinion.
After all most of these same people are continuingly pointing out
that now you are growing up you should be acting responsibly and
taking charge of your own life. Ok you’re going to make a few
mistakes along the way, but if they just let you get on with your
life each day would be so much happier. Then if you did have a
problem you would be able to go and speak to some on about it
because you know that they will listen to you without getting all
judgmental.
If any of this sounds familiar, that’s because you are just like thousands of other young people.
The following links are specifically aimed at the type of help and advice requested by young people, but you may also be able find help using the rest of this site.
You are not alone and no matter what you think there are people that will listen and advise you.
Don’t wait until it is too late! and Don’t be pressured into doing something that you know or feel is not right for you.
